Internal Medicine Physician, Kenpo Karate Instructor, & Yoga Instructor, Videographer/Editor/Creator Yoga To Go© DVD Series.
Mark Pierce, an Internal Medicine Physician, currently helps us out by filling in when his busy schedule allows. In addition to being a yogi, he has also earned his 5th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate at Scott Halsey’s Kenpo Karate studio.
October 2011 Mark earned the Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 500 Hour certification. The registry provides global recognition of knowledge, training and experience.
We are delighted to have his talent, enthusiasm, and devotion to the healing arts. His blend of eastern and western knowledge adds much to his classes… He is truly a wealth of information!
He & Nancy completed the Structural Yoga Therapy Teacher Training with Mukunda Stiles in Pasadena, Ca. Their classes reflect the depth of this training by helping each student adapt yoga to their individual needs on that particular day.
From Nancy: Mark used yoga exclusively during his recovery after he broke his wrist and had surgery. He was back in yoga class a week after surgery, and attended all his Karate classes only he practiced yoga during the sessions. He philosophy was that if he allowed that time to fill up with other things it would be that much more difficult to resume his weekly routine. He taught us ALL a lot during that long recovery phase, as he had to stay in a full arm cast for over 3 months!
Mark is one of the original two doctors who founded Hilltop Medical Clinic; now with two locations in Redding: 1093 Hilltop Drive & Hilltop West: 2123 Eureka Way
